'Strikes a Chord' on Posterous

As it's now official I thought I'd post something to the new Strikes a Chord forum on Posterous.
I've been messing around strumming the banjo and plucking intermittently and here's something that popped out this afternoon while playing in the key of D.

So Chris, I hope everyone moves across to the new forum at http://strikesachord.posterous.com/  as I think you've done a brill job with the old site!

Down Thumbing?!?!?

I've tried finger picking, strumming, down picking, frailing, up picking, drop thumbing, how about down thumbing? I'm not sure what else to call it. I was messing around trying out different ways of plucking this drum on a stick, and I came up with picking with the thumb, and combining it with a strum-thumb that I picked up from the uke and guitar. Its got a fuller, softer sound to the more strident down picking with the back of the finger nail. What d'you think?

Strumming the Banjo

After playing the ukulele last week I've been messing around with the banjo and tried strumming instead of frailing.
