Little Ditty Tab

PB asked for the tab for Little Ditty, here it is. In case my tab skills aren't up to snuff, you play the first eight bars twice. I think that's what the double dots mean.

Tom Dooley Tab

Here's a simple tab for the Tom Dooley exercise I posted using alternating thumb rolls on the banjo. The pattern is Thumb, Index, Thumb, Middle (T I T M).

I'll try and make my handwriting a bit clearer next time.

Country Blues

I haven't tried any alternative tunings on the banjo yet, but Stephen's tab for Dock Boggs' Country Blues, which he posted on Tangier Sound, has inspired me to give it a try. I get a bit fed up of some banjo players who are constantly re-tuning, but Stephens's tab sounds great and as it is related to one of the tunes that got me wanting to play the banjo, I thought I'd give it a try. The tab is set out for gCGCC which must be Treble C (or something weird), or Double C tuning gCGCD.

Been a bit sick the last couple of days, so the audio version will follow soon. Until then here's Stephen and Jim Pankey doing 'Country Blues'.

Wabash Cannonball

I've been working on Wabash Cannonball this week on ukulele and banjo with the Uke of Cornwall , so if we get some audio or video we'll get it on.

Thumbs up from the Big Man and Irish Pub Songs for the 5-String Banjo

I've been using this site to pull together banjo related stuff that I've found on the web, and increasingly I've been using Patrick Costello's website and online resources through Tangier Sound(see links) and You Tube. So I thought it was about time that I contacted them and checked that it's OK, after all it's their hard work that produces most of the tablature that I've been linking to and posting on Northern Banjo Boy.
