Open G on the guitar

DGDGBD - thought I'd have a play about the the guitar in open g tuning, and I love it! It's really easy to take a lot of the stuff that you've learned on the banjo over. It's probably not the tuning for the determined jazz fan but if you're used to plucking a drum on a stick, it's OK.

  1. I play in open g a lot, it's a great tuning, and leads nicely into playing open d too. I find the great things about open g is having that low 5th (low d) string and playing a bit of slide. Keep at it!

  2. Do you know Gram Parsons taught Keef to play in G-Ronnie Wood copied him and before you knew it rock history was made!
Latley I have been mostly playing in E-just to be bloody awkward.
