After playing the ukulele last week I've been messing around with the banjo and tried strumming instead of frailing.

Master Stan Gee said I have to try playing and singing in different keys to see how it works with my voice (which is pretty crappy). As I haven't got the hang of the four fingered chords up the neck yet, I've been using a capo to raise the pitch of the banjo. I've tried this song in A ansd C but it felt most comfortable in D so here it is. I've used Patrick Costello's tab from the Outlaws and Scalawags Song Book.

Blue Moon F-hole tenor Ukulele

I loved playing the Uke Of Cornwall's Tenor Uke when he visited recently, so I think I might invest in one myself. They retail through Hobgoblin Music at £55.00 which is a bargain. I loved the pear shaped body and the slightly chunkier feel of the tenor means you don't feel like a giant playing a kiddies instrument. It has a great sound and felt really easy to play. I think the Uke had restrung the original nylon strings with something a touch more expensive (£5), but even with this included its a nice reasonably priced instrument.
